Can flexible working hours configure the property market?

We all know that happier and more rested workers are far more likely to perform at their absolute best.

Companies in the UK, however, are still caught up in a draining culture of work-every-hour-the-day-offers-to-prove-yourself.

But how can having flexible hours help our working performances?

Well, it’s about working SMART and not just working HARD.

Because of COVID, working from home became mandatory.

Remote working is here to stay. Based on studies conducted, 50% of the UK workforce will be working from home or out of office within the next few years.

Business indeed requires face-to-face contact, and this is understandable. Face-to-face communication helps us with idea generation and relationship building.

However, full-immersion virtual reality could be with us in the next decade with the technological hardware and latest apps already available.

Working remotely has been around since the 1970s, but because of these recent technologies, we were able to do work better remotely at the comfort of our homes.

So, what does this mean for property investment?

With a massive increase in the number of employees working from home, there will be a shift to more affordable markets.

It will include both affordable capital cities as well as regional lifestyle locations such as rural and coastal.

As always, shortage and inexpensiveness will be the main drivers moving into the future.
